Watching it.
Not having a tv was initially an attempt to watch less mind-numbing bullshit. It’s worked in that I’m more selective in what I watch (which I watch online), and I have ZERO tolerance for advertisements.
I started reading more (books) but now that’s changed to reading more (blogs & other). But at least I’m reading more.
In not watching tv I’ve started listening to Radio a hell of a lot more. Although this mainly occurs in the morning I sometimes listen later on.
My 3 regular favourites are
- In Our Time, with Melvyn Bragg (tackles various historical events)
- Desert Island Discs (always interesting no matter who the guest is)
- Shut Up, Weirdo (it’s just stupid but I love it)
